چکیده

A recent analysis of the charge (Z) correlations in the ∆Z− < Z > plane for Xe+Sn central collisions at 32 MeV/u has shown an enhancement in the production of equally sized fragments (low ∆Z) which was interpreted as evidence for spinodal decomposition. However the signal was weak. After a critical analysis of its robustness, we propose in this paper a new technique to build the uncorrelated yield in the charge correlation function. The application of this method to Xe+Sn central collision data at 32, 39, 45 and 50 MeV/u does not show any significant enhancement at low ∆Z at variance with what it is expected from spinodal decomposition.

3 New approach of fragment charge correlations in 129 Xe + nat Sn central collisions

Fragment Charge Correlations and Spinodal Decomposition in Finite Nuclear Systems

Enhanced production of events with almost equal-sized fragments is experimentally revealed by charge correlations in the multifragmentation of a finite nuclear system selected in Xe central collisions on Sn. The evolution of their weight with the incident energy: 32, 39, 45, 50 AMeV, is measured. Dynamical stochastic mean field simulations performed at 32 AMeV, in which spinodal instabilities a...

Source shape determination with directional fragment-fragment velocity correlations

Correlation functions, constructed from directional projections of the relative velocities of fragments, are used to determine the shape of the breakup volume in Preprint submitted to Elsevier 2 February 2008 coordinate space. For central collisions of Xe + Sn at 50 MeV per nucleon incident energy, measured with the 4π multi-detector INDRA at GSI, a prolate shape aligned along the beam directio...

Improvement on Fermionic properties and new isotope production in molecular dynamics simulations

By considering momentum transfer in the Fermi constraint procedure, the stability of the initial nuclei and fragments produced in heavy-ion collisions can be further improved in the quantum molecular dynamics simulations. The case of the phase space occupation probability larger than one is effectively reduced with the proposed procedure. Simultaneously, the energy conservation can be better de...
